Chris Froome returns to the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya

The four times winner of the Tour de France, winner of the Giro and the Vuelta has confirmed his presence in the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya 2019, which will be held from March 25th to 31st. The Sky team has confirmed to the organization of the "Volta" that the British cyclist has planned within its 2019 calendar the Catalan race.

Froome, one of the greatest cyclist, had participated in the editions of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and after a year of absence, will again pedal on the roads of Catalunya.

With a sixth place in the general classification as the best result, Froome will have the challenge of fighting some of the best cyclists in the world in the Volta, with confirmed figures such as world champion Alejandro Valverde, the French Romain Bardet and Thibaut Pinot, Italian Fabio Aru or the Catalan Marc Soler.

Starting in Calella, the Volta Ciclista in Catalunya will celebrate its 99th edition from March 25 to 31, consolidated as one of the most attractive one-week stages of the international calendar for spectators, teams and cyclists.

Froome will have as a great objective of the season to try to win the fifth Tour de France in his record, but before all the Volta fans will be able to enjoy it on the Catalan roads.
