La Molina has been a classic in the mountain stages of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya over the last decade and this year it will once again be the first uphill finish, hosting a stage finish of the Volta for the seventh time. It has always been renowned climbers who have won on its final ramps: Alejandro Valverde twice (2017 and 2018), Joaquim Rodríguez (2014), Tejay Van Garderen (2015), Dan Martin (2016) and Miguel Ángel López (2019) have won in this place, four of them being the overall winners of their editions.

The mountain resort of La Molina is located in a unique enclave, where the regions of Cerdanya, Berguedà and Ripollès meet. In the middle of the Girona Pyrenees, less than two hours from Barcelona and other major cities, this resort is one of the most popular all year round for nature and adventure sports enthusiasts.

The resort offers all kinds of activities and leisure possibilities. Both in winter, with more than 145 km skiable together with the La Molina + Masella domain and being the oldest ski resort in the Pyrenees, and in summer, when it becomes a reference bikepark in Catalonia.

La Molina is the gateway to the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, as it can be reached by the Cadí Moixeró cable car up to the summit of La Tosa and once there you can enjoy a spectacular 360° viewpoint overlooking the natural park.

With more than 75 years of history, the mountain resort of La Molina has its maximum altitude of 2537 metres and the base of the resort at 1667 metres, offering almost 70 ski runs and 13 downhill circuits to the Bikepark for all levels.
