Mataró returns to the Volta a Catalunya this 2023

Martorell will enjoy the best world cycling next March 21st as a part of the 2023 Volta Ciclista a Catalunya route. This Monday, the official presentation of its stage has been celebrated. It will be the second day of racing in this 102nd edition of the Catalan race: a crucial stage with a mountain finish in the Vallter ski station.
Espai Mataró Connecta has been the scenaty of the official stage presentation, with the presence of the Sports city councillor Bea Delgado and the general director of Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, Rubèn Peris.
During the presentation, all the details of the stage depart have been presented. A stage which will make all the fans enjoy the presence of the best cycling teams and riders and the infraestructure of a UCI WorldTour race in Mataró. The current world champion Remco Evenepoel leads a participation that next March 21th will be in the Camí de la Geganta for the joy of the cycling fans.
Mataró han been 15 times in the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya route since its first appearence in history, in 1943. The three-times world champion Peter Sagan won in Mataró in the last presence of the city in la Volta, in the historical 100th edition of 2021. In the last decade, Mataró also had stage starts through the 2014-2019 period.
