iryo reaffirms its commitment to sport and will support the best climber of the Volta Catalunya 2024

The first Spanish private high speed operator has reached an agreement with the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya as a new main sponsor. iryo makes a strong commitment with the race and will be the image of the mountain classification jersey, which will be worn by the best climber of the Volta during the week of the race.

The operator becomes part of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and will be the sponsor of the characteristic mountain jersey, which is identified by its white color with green stripes. This jersey will dress the best climber, which will be decided at the end of each of the 7 stages of the Volta, crowning the best of the mountain classification at the end of the race.

In previous editions we have seen cyclists like world champion Remco Evenepoel (2023), Esteban Chaves (2021), Thomas De Gendt (2016 and 2019) or Alejandro Valverde (2017 and 2018) crowned as mountain leader.

With iryo's entry into the Volta, the company reaffirms its commitment to culture and sport, allying itself with the third oldest stage race in the world, after the Tour de France and the Giro d'Itàlia. The company will start operations in Catalonia on November 25, 2023 and has the routes Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona, Madrid-Tarragona and the first transverse route Barcelona-Seville.

Furthermore, iryo has a fleet of 20 environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art trains. Thanks to a state-of-the-art aerodynamic design and the supply of 100% renewable energy in operations and central services, they run on Spanish roads at 300 kilometers per hour.

The 103rd edition of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, which will take place from 18 to 24 March, will reveal in two days, on Tuesday 28 February, the entire route of the next edition. An edition that is attracted by the entry of a company with the solidity of iryo, which will offer us, without any doubt, to enjoy the best cycling in the world on our roads.
