The 29-year-old American cyclist, winner of stages in both the Vuelta and the Tour de France, established himself as a contender for the big races on the calendar with his victory in the general classification of the Vuelta last 2023. In addition, Kuss is a much-loved personality among the fans thanks to his strong links with Catalonia.
The American joins the list of big stars of the international peloton who have announced their intention to be at the start of the Volta 2024, including Tour de France winners such as Slovenian Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates), Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers), Giro and Vuelta winner Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), as well as the winner of the Volta 2016, among others. It will be Kuss' fourth participation in the Volta a Catalunya, in which he has taken part at the 2019, 2021 and 2023 editions.
His best result was 12th in the 2021 edition, in which he was 5th at the finish in Port Ainé, which returns to the route this season.
