Remco Evenepoel, first star confirmed for the 2026 Volta

 The world champion took part in the 2023 edition of the Catalan race

Belgian Remco Evenepoel, double Olympic champion in Paris 2024 and world champion, is the first big star confirmed for the next edition of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, which will take place between 23 and 29 March.

His team, Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe, confirmed the Belgian star's schedule this afternoon. Evenepoel is already familiar with the Volta Catalunya, where he finished second in 2023, just behind Primoz Roglic.

On that occasion, after a fierce battle throughout the week with the Slovenian for the top spot in the general classification, Remco finished in second place, after taking two stage victories, in La Molina and in the final stage in Barcelona.

His team, Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe, has also confirmed the participation of his teammate Florian Lipowitz, who finished third in the last edition of the Tour de France, in the Volta.
