The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, which this year celebrated the 104th edition of their men's race and the 2nd stage edition of the women's race, has been awarded the highest organisational score in the evaluation reports carried out by the International Cycling Union (UCI) after the celebration of its two international category events this 2025.

The Union Cycliste Internationale, the highest regulatory body of world’s cycling, which carries out these reports for all the organisations of races on the international calendar, has taken into account the work done by the Volta a Catalunya in terms of rac safety, public, route, accommodation, TV broadcasting and organisation.

In the case of the men's race, held from 24 to 30 March and won by Primoz Roglic, the UCI highlights the great professionalism of the organisation, pointing to the great work with the safety elements in the race, the information provided to the teams in advance and through Radio Tour and the coverage of the race with two medical cars and three ambulances.

The international federation also highlights the large number of spectators, the variety of the route, the important live television broadcast in all the stages and the good cooperation of the organising team, especially highlighting the management to redo and adapt the route in accordance with the emergency alerts, as was experienced in the 6th stage due to the strong wind.

In the case of the women's race, which was consolidated from 6 to 8 June with a second edition won by Demi Vollering, the UCI highlighted the professionalism of the organisation, placing a central role in security and the quality of a television broadcast which, it assures, is ‘a plus for the image of cycling’. In the report, it points out the important security convoy for the race, made up of 40 motorbikes and 4 police cars, as well as a dozen organisers' motorbikes, and the coordination between them and the commissaires.

The UCI also highlights the varied route of the Volta a Catalunya, with a queen mountain stage that is ‘very interesting for the teams’. It also highlights the importance of the TV coverage of the race, with 3 motorbikes and 1 helicopter covering each stage for two hours, giving ‘a great image of cycling’.

These reports conclude that ‘all the elements were brought together so that each of the cycling actors could work in the best conditions’, which makes Volta a Catalunya proud of the great work done by its technical and organisational team, as well as the collaboration of different institutions such as the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Servei Català de Trànsit, the different town councils and provincial councils involved, the Departament d'Esports de la Generalitat de Catalunya and its sponsors, among others.
