The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, now firmly established on the international women's calendar in the UCI 2.1 category, announces the participating teams for its third edition this Wednesday. In 2026, the Catalan race will take place on 19, 20 and 21 June, with the aim of attracting world-class participation after two previous editions with exceptional winners such as Marianne Vos and Demi Vollering. Twenty-two teams, ten of which are from the top two categories of international women's cycling, have already confirmed their participation in the Catalan race.
After two spectacular first years with victories by two world sporting icons, Dutch cyclists Demi Vollering (2025) and Marianne Vos (2024), the Volta a Catalunya continues to take steps to consolidate its women's race on the international calendar. Before revealing all the details of the race route, which will be made public at the official presentation on Thursday 5 February alongside those of the men's race, the Catalan event has today announced the participating teams.
There are twenty-two teams on the list, including five UCI Women's WorldTour teams from the world's top division. The AG Insurance-Soudal Team, FDJ United-Suez, Movistar Team, Team Visma-Lease a Bike and UAE Team ADQ, which have produced the first two winners of the Volta, will ensure a high level of competition and participation. Among their ranks are two of the greatest Catalan cyclists of the moment: three-time Spanish time trial champion Mireia Benito (AG Insurance-Soudal Team) and reigning European U23 champion Paula Blasi (UAE Team ADQ).
Five teams from the second division (UCI Women's ProTeams) will also be represented: Cofidis Women Team, Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi, Mayenne Monbana My Pie, St Michel-Preference Home-Auber 93 and Volkerwessels Cycling Team, many of which will be returning to the Catalan race, along with five other international UCI Women’s Continental Teams such as Citymess-Customm Pro Cycling Team, Hitec Products-Fluid Control, Liv-AlUla-Jayco, a development structure of the Australian WorldTour team, Team Abadie Magnan, Team Amani Women and the World Cycling Center Team, a team from the Union Cycliste Internationale.
Finally, the field is completed by six national teams, including three Catalan teams: Massi Baix Ter, EC Mataró-Skoda Mogadealer and the Catalan national team. Together with Cantabria Deporte-Río Miera, Eneicat-Becall and the Galician Team Farto-BTC, they will complete the peloton for this Volta a Catalunya, which will hold its third edition as a stage race on 19, 20 and 21 June with three days of competition between Santa Susanna and Barcelona, where world-class participation is expected.
