It will be the fourth time in history that Port Ainé has been the protagonist of a high altitude finish in the Volta. In 2013 it saw Irishman Dan Martin's solo triumph that would earn him the overall victory, in 2016 one of the five victories in the Catalan race by Belgian icon Thomas De Gendt and in 2021, on the last visit, a triumph by Colombian Esteban Chaves.

The Pallaresan resort of Port Ainé will be the stage finish this 2024, for the fifth time in the 103rd edition of the Volta.

Port Ainé is in the municipalities of Rialp and Soriguera, in the Orri massif and in the splendid natural setting provided by the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, in the Pallars Sobirà region in the Lleida Pyrenees.

The resort has about 30 km of slopes and 800 meters of vertical drop suitable for all levels and types of skiers. All the slopes are surrounded by the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and stand out for their integration in a mountain landscape and for their wonderful views of the whole Pyrenees.

The ascent to the mountain resort of Port Ainé is considered a special category ascent of 19km in length, with more than 1200 meters of positive slope and ramps that reach 13%, with an average gradient of about 6.5%!

During the whole ascent you can contemplate great landscapes as we are surrounded by the Alt Pirineu Natural Park! In addition, the region of Pallars Sobirà offers numerous cycling routes for all levels, having as a backbone the Noguera Pallaresa, you will not finish them!
