La “Volta”, first UCI World Tour race that will have a virtual version with Bkool

La Volta Ciclista a Catalunya will have a virtual version this year thanks to the Bkool simulator. Sports and cycling fans can enjoy the 99th edition of the "Volta" in the living room of their home, using a roller and the simulator that recreates the route along the roads of Catalunya.

Bkool becomes Official Supplier of the "Volta", and with the organization of the "Volta" has designed a contest to encourage and improve the user experience. Through the software developed by Bkool, cyclists will experience the tough conditions of the 99th edition of the "Volta" in an online competition with prizes included. All information HERE

The "Volta", whose first edition was in 1911, is the third oldest cyclist event in the world after the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France. With this collaboration, the race mpves forward to the new tecnologies. This year the Volta will have the participation of cyclists like Chris Froome, Alejandro Valverde or Romain Bardet, among many others.

"La Volta is competition, history and tradition, but with this collaboration shows that it is also modern. We want to reach a younger and cyclist audience", said the president of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, Rubèn Peris.

"For Bkool it is a big step to offer its platform to races such as the Volta so that we can organize an online version for a World Tour race. We are a simulator of real cycling routes, and doing a virtual competition based on the routes of a professional tour is exciting for us, "says Javier Cepedano, marketing director of Bkool.

With a database of more than 100,000 users, cyclists registered to the Bkool simulator will be able to participate in a virtual race and against other riders in a recreation of the first 6 stages of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. Teh event will take place between 6th and 21st March.

The best cyclists of this virtual challenge will have as a prize to attend the final day of the Volta in the Barcelona stage, to face a challenge at a Bkool stand in the finish area. The first three will be awarded with a Bkool Smart Air roller.

The Volta becomes the first UCI World Tour race to have a virtual version, offering a new experience for Bkool users. A good option to fight virtually against cyclists like Froome, Valverde and Bardet. To participate, users will only have to register in Bkool (here) and, for free and after downloading their simulator, participate in the stages.
