Romain Bardet, another star who will be at the Volta

The French rider of the team AG2R La Mondiale, Romain Bardet, one of the stars of the world cycling, announced in an interview in L'Équipe newspaper his program for the 2019 season.

The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya is among the races he has scheduled. He had already been present in the catalana race on 5 occasions (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017).

Bardet has as main objective of the season the Tour de France 2019, where he was second in 2016 and where he has won three stages, and has chosen the "Volta" as a strong point of his start of the season.

His best result in the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya was the second position in the 2014 stage between Alp and Vallter2000 (Setcases), behind the winner TJ Van Garderen (That year he finished fourth in the general classification). Precisely this year 2019 the Volta will finish a stage in Vallter 2000,with the departure in Sant Feliu de Guíxols.

Bardet, who also plans to ride races like the Paris - Nice or the Liege-Bastogne -Lieja, will be one of the great attractions of the Volta 2019.
