Matthews: “Coming to Catalonia was even better than I could have expected”

The double stage winner Michael Matthews commented about his participation in la Volta:

“La Volta is a beautiful race that I watched on TV, unfortunately it was the second option this year but it turned out even better than I could have expected”.

“I came here with a very good team that supported me, I have had full support at this race and I am happy I could have won, after the hard work they are doing.

“I have not actually read about the course in Barcelona but I have always seen it on TV. I think it’s a good course for me; hopefully I will have some sort of legs for tomorrow at this race. And hopefully we will have some fun in Barcelona. Either way it looks like a very active race and the type of racing that I like, so I’ll be there just trying”.
