La Volta Ciclista a Catalunya will have points classification, sponsored by Loteria de Catalunya

The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya will have in the 2019 edition the points classification, in substitution of the intermediate sprints classification. From this next edition the winner of the classification will be obtained from the points that add up in the intermediate sprints - two per stage - and the points in the finish line according to the arrival position.

The points classification will win in excitement since the cyclists who  for this prize must not only compete for the intermediate sprints in the different populations, but they must also fight the sprints at the finish line.

The classification is sponsored this year 2019 by Loteria de Catalunya and will be distinguished by wearing the white jersey with blue stripes.

The following municipalities will enjoy an intermediate sprint in its streets: Els Hostalets de Balenyà and Vallgorguina (Stage 1), Sant Feliu de Guíxols and Platja d'Aro (Stage 2), Banyoles and Llanars (Stage 3), Ripoll and Alp (Stage 4), Perafita and Sabadell (Stage 5), Botarell and Cambrils (stage 6) and Castelldefels and Barcelona (Stage 7).

In previous years, the classification was won by cyclists such as the Frenchman Pierre Rolland (2017) Thomas De Gendt (2016) or Lluís Mas (2018 and 2015).
