Carrefour will dress the leader of the Mountain at the “Volta”

The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya will count, for third consecutive year, with the sponsorship of Carrefour. Carrefour continues giving support to the mountain’s leader at that 99th edition, which will take part from 25th to 31st march.

Carrefour started as main sponsor of the “Volta” the year 2017, and a year later took over the white and red stripped jersey that distinguishes the best climber of the Volta. At this edition Carrefour maintains its compromise with the mountain and with the race.

In past editions the mountain’s jersey has been won by cyclists as the Spanish Alejandro Valverde (2017, 2018), el Belgian Thomas de Gendt (2016) or the American Tom Danielson (2015).

The 99th Volta Ciclista a Catalunya will live again an edition with a great importance of the mountain, with two endings at the ski stations of Vallter 2000 (3rd stage) and La Molina (4th stage). The race will also have 29 scoring crossings at mountain cols. It is expected a great fight for the Carrefour’s jersey of best climber.

In addition to the leader of the mountain, the “Volta” maintains the other three official rankings: general leader, regularity and best youth – riders under 25 years old-.

It also maintains a non-official ranking with an own jersey that is given at the last stage, the ranking to the best Catalan cyclist, that the last two years has been won by the Vilanova i la Geltrú cyclist from the Movistar Team Marc Soler.
