The period for the Volta 100 editions song contest is finished

"iCatVolta", the contest organized by iCatFM, the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and l’Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals, with the collaboration of the Acadèmia Catalana de la Música, has already closed the period to apply to be an official song of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.

A jury will soon choose the three finalist songs, which will be put to the listener’s vote through the icat website, from December 15 to January 5, 2020.

The most voted will be the song of the 100th edition of the Volta, and will be made public on January 7. We have to remember that in 2011, coinciding with the edition of the 100 years (1911 – 2011), the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya already had an official soundtrack, the song "Pas a Pas" by the saxophonist Pep Poblet, framed within his album "Saxology".

The musician Pep Poblet has been part of groups, orchestras and top singer-songwriters such as Lluís Llach, Marina Rosell, Orquestra Meravella, La Salseta del Poble Sec, Beth, David Bisbal, Manuel Carrasco, Victor Manuel and Ana Belén, among many others.

Now, the Volta is looking for a new official song for the 100th edition of the race, and to accompany the cyclists in the different stages through the catalan territory.
